Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to learn about, buy and use Ventos.

Our commitment
Ventoscity, Inc. (“Ventoscity”, “we”), a Delaware corporation, is committed to making the Ventos website, the Ventos app, and the Ventos device usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across our digital products and to give people an easy way to tell us when something doesn’t work for them.
Understanding your own body shouldn’t depend on how you see, hear, move or process information. Accessibility is part of how we design, build, and test, not a fix we add at the end.
Scope
This policy covers every customer-facing Ventos product and channel.
- Website: ventoscity.com, all site pages, the blog, and the waitlist at join.ventoscity.com
- Shop: The Shopify store, product pages, cart and checkout
- Ventos app: iOS and Android apps, including onboarding, pairing, daily check-ins, surveys and the Gas Profile
- Ventos device: The wearable, its charger, packaging, quick-start guide and setup instructions
- Communications: Marketing and transactional emails, support articles, PDFs and videos we publish
Third-party tools we embed (such as payment, chat or video players) are covered in How we maintain it.
Standards we follow
Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, for the website, shop and app.
- WCAG 2.2 AA: the benchmark for all web and in-app content.
- Platform guidelines: Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and Google’s Material accessibility guidance for the iOS and Android apps, including support for VoiceOver, TalkBack, Dynamic Type and system font scaling.
- Applicable laws: we intend to meet the accessibility obligations that apply to us, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and, where we sell to customers in the EU, the European Accessibility Act.
We treat these as a floor. Where a stricter guideline would help our users, we follow it.
What you can expect
We design each product so it works with the assistive technology and settings you already use.
Website and shop
- Full keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator and a skip-to-content link
- Semantic headings, landmarks and labels that work with screen readers
- Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers
- Color contrast of at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and interface elements, including on our dark navy backgrounds
- Pages that reflow at 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling
- Captions for videos and no autoplaying audio; motion respects reduced-motion settings
- Forms, including checkout and the waitlist, with clear labels, error messages and no time limits you can’t extend
Ventos app
- Support for VoiceOver, TalkBack, Dynamic Type and bold text
- Gas Profile charts and trends described in text, so the meaning never depends on color or a visual alone
- Touch targets of at least 24×24 points, with no gestures that require precise or multi-finger movement
- Daily check-ins and surveys that can be paused and resumed
Ventos device
- Device status, pairing and charging shown in the app as well as on the device, so no step relies on a single sense
- Quick-start and setup instructions available online in an accessible format, alongside the printed guide
- Packaging that opens without tools or fine motor strength where we can achieve it
How we maintain it
Accessibility checks are built into every stage of our work, from design to release.
- Design: the Ventos design system defines accessible color pairs, type sizes and focus states, and new components are reviewed against WCAG 2.2 AA before use.
- Build: developers use semantic HTML and native app controls, and label every interactive element.
- Test: each release is checked with automated tools plus manual testing using keyboard only, VoiceOver, TalkBack, and Zoom.
- Audit: an independent accessibility review of the website and app at least once a year, and before major launches.
- Train: everyone who designs, writes, builds, or supports Ventos completes accessibility training when they join and refreshes it yearly.
- Third parties: we ask vendors whose tools appear in our products (such as Shopify, payment and consent tools) for accessibility conformance information, and we prefer accessible options. Where a vendor’s tool falls short, we offer another way to complete the task.
Known limitations
We’re still working toward full conformance, and some parts may not yet meet our standard. We list known issues here and update this section as we fix them.
- Third-party content: some embedded tools, such as checkout or consent banners, are built by vendors and may not fully conform. Contact us, and we’ll help you complete the task another way.
- Older content: blog posts, PDFs, and videos published before this policy may lack captions or tagging. We’re reviewing them and will provide an accessible version on request.
- New features: Early Access features may be released before a full audit. We prioritize fixes for anything that blocks a core task.
Specific known issues will be listed here after our first audit.
